Emily lives in North Carolina with her husband, their new baby girl, and their two dogs—both, quite by chance, named Luna. A new mom and lifelong book lover, she holds a degree in English and worked in corporate communications before choosing a more creative, intentional path.

Her days are now filled with reading, writing, crafting eco-friendly candles, and enjoying little outdoor adventures with her growing family. Emily is also a guiding force behind the vision of Little Light & Thread. With a love for planning and storytelling, she helps shape the brand’s mission to share peaceful, cozy, and life-giving practices.

Together with her mother, Celeste, Emily has learned through their own seasons of change that slowing down, creating intentionally, and living gently can be a source of joy; and they believe those same practices can bring light to others as well.

Celeste recently retired after a 30-year career in nonprofit management, where she dedicated her energy to helping communities grow stronger and more connected. She holds degrees in Public Relations and a Master’s in Public Administration, but her most cherished roles are mother, grandmother, and now co-creator of Little Light & Thread.

Surrounded by books since childhood, Celeste has always treasured children’s literature. Over the years she has gathered and cherished storybooks like beloved keepsakes, first for herself, then for her two daughters, and now for her granddaughter—each one a thread in the tapestry of rhyme, wonder, and bedtime tales.

Little Light & Thread grew out of this lifelong love of stories, woven together with Emily’s creativity and vision. What began as a shared passion has blossomed into a storybook-inspired brand designed to bring levity, coziness, and whimsy to everyday life.
